The Avett Brothers, trail blazing band have popularized folk rock and performed gigs with the legends including Bob Dylan at this year's Grammys, are on the road for 2011 and just announced the next batch of Avett Brothers Tour Dates!! The band will be putting these up for email list only pre-sale, Tuesday, July 26th at noon local market time.
The folk rock band from Concord, North Carolina is made up of two brothers, Scott Avett and Seth Avett, who play the banjo and guitar respectively, Bob Crawford who plays the stand-up bass and Joe Kwon plays the Cello.
The Avett Brothers combine bluegrass, country, punk, pop melodies, folk, rock and roll, honky tonk, and ragtime to produce a sound described by the San Francisco Chronicle as having the "heavy sadness of Townes Van Zandt, the light pop concision of Buddy Holly, the tuneful jangle of the Beatles, the raw energy of the Ramones."
